Last year around this time I went through a bit of a dry spell. Just stopped writing from this week until about mid-April. So there won’t be a rewritten song until the week of April 11 or so, because I don’t have any new material from last year to re-record.
But, by next week I’ll think up something new to do on Thursdays and Fridays. Gotta keep myself busy, ya know.
Just got back form the National Battle of the Jug Bands up in Minneapolis yesterday night, so I didn’t’ get a chance to write or record the next version of Talkin’ Headline Blues. No fear, though. There’s plenty of great headlines today and I’ll have a new one up to listen to tomorrow.
Now, maybe you’re wondering how the battle went? Well, the Barehand Jugband took everyone to task and won the Sunday night Waffle League and brought home the big bacon.
I just wrote another new song that probably fits nicely with the one I wrote on Monday. It’s probably gonna be called “The Wake-up Blues.” The chorus is sort of like this:
Oh, I got the wake-up blues, yeah, the wake-up blues,
Not much I can do when I just wanna be with you.
So, I’ll record this tonight and post it tomorrow. I guess this week is sort of turning into “Work Songs Week.”
I’m taking a break from songwriting this week. I’ve got a lot going on. I’m finally finishing up my 2 albums, “It’s Chicago!” and “Andrew Francis,” and I need to get those to the factory-line for assembly today or tomorrow.
I’ll have a new song for next Monday and then all the following Mondays after that, forever.
No new song today. I failed. But failin ain’t so bad. Shows where t go and how t get there. What not t do and what t do. But, anyway, that’s just one day.
