Hey hey…look what I finally recorded and got up here. This week’s Talkin’ Headline. Nothing special or specific about this one. Just something to listen to and ease back into your brain.

I do, however, have some really cool news. I got 2 songs recorded and ready to put on a 7-inch vinyl record that’ll spin at 45 howlin’ rpms. After it gets pressed and primped I’m taking it out on the road for a tour of Rust Belt cities.

This all happens starting June 1.

“Why are you telling me this now?” you may ask…

Then, after watching the video, you can donate to the project. In doing so, not only do you get the two new songs on sweet sweet vinyl, but you also can get some really original and fantastic rewards depending on how much you give.

Things like…Polaroid pictures and letters mailed to your door from tour stops, hand-printed posters, old (almost out-of-print) CDs, and a host of other things.

All the donations go towards the pressing of the record and the tour. You can be part of the process!

Well, I finally got around to recording the headlines from Monday. All taken directly and unchanged from CNN.com. This is a very serious installment, if you’re keeping track. Not in any way comedic like last week’s version.

So, also, did you know that Poor Elvis has a show?…TONIGHT at the Mutiny at 9pm sharp. It’s the birthday party of a good friend, Jeff. His band, the Dirty Generals, is also playing. Come on out. It’s free. I’ll be wearing white in, maybe, the dirtiest bar in Chicago. And, well, it’ll be fun.

Also, also. I am working hard on a new 7-inch vinyl that’s due out in June. Almost all the recording is wrapped up. Be sure to check back for updates. There’s sure to be some good ones in the next few days and weeks.

Here’s the 72nd installment in the Talkin’ Headline Blues marathon. Just to clarify, if you’re confused. I do NOT rewrite any (or hardly any) of these headlines. They come straight from cnn.com. I think some people, maybe, don’t believe that. It’s only hard to tell because cnn changes their headlines so often that if you try and compare what I’ve copied down to those currently on the site you’ll think I rewrote the lines to rhyme and match up better.

But no!

There’s so much highly important news out there that the headlines must change with the news. They must!

Anyway….

I recorded this one before I finished the rough takes of a couple songs that I’m going to put on a new Poor Elvis 7-inch vinyl that’ll be released in June.
