Hey, I’ve done 50 of these talkin’ blues full of silly headlines from cnn.com. How many have you listened to?

Rewritten Song: Makes Perfect Sense (version 2)
I’m postponing the new song for today, mainly because I didn’t get a chance to record my new one last night. But more importantly because I didn’t totally finish the new one last night. But it’s almost done. It’ll be coming down the line probably Wednesday or Thursday.
So, anyway, instead, for today, I’m posting the re-recorded version of the song I wrote this week, last year.
For this one I added a chorus part and I changed the singing from a talkin’ blues to a more straight up blues tune. I think either way works well, but the chorus definitely adds something. At least makes the song a little longer.
Check out the original version and then you can compare and contrast and leave a highly critical comment about one or both or none.
New Song: Skeptical of You
Here’s the new song for this week…finally. I wrote this one yesterday after some divine inspiration. Not divine in the sense that the Lawd Almighty came down and smote this song upon a rock. But, divine in the beautiful sense. In the loving sense.
If that makes any sense….
Anyway, I think it turned out pretty good. I’m guessing I’ll play it out, but will probably do it a little faster. That also means there’ll be a harp break in there somewhere.
Maybe you’ll catch me playing it at the Whistler on November 20? That’s the next show, if ya didn’t know. I’m playing the first half of Lawrence Peters’ Country Throw-down. It’s a great time cause once Lawrence spins records after the music the rest of the night. So you can shake your rump til Monday comes. Check out the facebook invite for more info.
Rewritten Song: See What I Got (version 2)
Here’s the new re-record. Not totally sure this one is that different than the original last year. Go listen to that here and you be the judge. Leave a comment with your thoughts, okay?
I do really like this tune, though. Like I said in the original post, it’s different than other songs I write. Lots of words, lots of chords. But, of course, that kind of makes it a less complex song than most of my others, I feel. It’s all right out there. Nothing’s hiding, nothing’s waiting to pop out at the last second. You pretty much know where it’s at and where it’s going from the beginning.
Oh well. Anyway. Tomorrow I’m hoping to get the new song for this week up. Please cross your fingers. It’s gonna take a lot of luck.
The Talkin’ Headline Blues #49
Well, if you’re paying close attention, and you read cnn.com everyday (How in the world could you do that without losing your head?) you’ll notice that these are the headlines from Tuesday. I just was not around a computer on Monday, so I couldn’t get them down. Hopefully nothing important happened on Monday, or over the weekend.
Anyway, here’s the next Talkin’ Headline. I’ll follow tomorrow (probably) with the re-recorded version from last year and then on Friday with a new song, which I haven’t written yet, but I got a couple ideas shifting around. Plus, I know something’ll get my blood rushing by then.
