The Talkin’ Headline Blues #85

Here are all the headlines from Monday this week.

Don’t forget the show at Lacuna Artist Loft Studios this Saturday, October 13. It’s a free event, with free beer samples from Powell Brew House.

Poor Elvis will also be playing a couple acoustic sets during the event, which starts at 12 noon and runs until 6pm.

Come on out! There’s more info here.

The Talkin’ Headline Blues #84

So, I felt it was time to start doing these again. A month to go to a lot of things. Or a few things. Or…I guess, probably, that the headlines are gonna start to get really funny.

So you get this.

Now, you may notice, if you were keeping track, that the music is a little different. And maybe you’re saying to yourself, “Hey, Self, I really don’t think these are “Talkin’ Blues” songs in the traditional sense. What the heck is going on here?”

I’d say to that: Thanks for paying attention.

The Talkin’ Headline Blues #83

Okay, well, this week sure did slip right out from under me.

So…no new song and no re-recorded tune from last year.

But! Here’s the Talkin’ Headline for this week. Written on Monday. That’s something, no?

Also, here’s something…a Poor Elvis show on Saturday at Favorite Records. And Powell Brew House will be pouring free beer samples. If you miss out on that you’re  a really big jerk. Here’s the info on facebook.

Rewritten Song: I’m Better Off (version 2)

So, here’s the re-recorded version of “I’m Better Off,” which I wrote and released exactly one year ago today.

The new one is what it is. The old one’s here, if you want to compare.

Be on the alert! There’s a Poor Elvis show this Friday. The details are here. Check it out!
